About Us

Hi there! I'm Cassidie Gasvoda, Creator of Roughout West. 

I've had a heart for horses and the western lifestyle for as long as I can remember, but I didn't grow up in a ranch, farm, or rodeo family. My great Grandfather had raised cattle at the base of Mt. Shasta in California, but when he passed so did his ranching legacy. I grew up a town kid in an area of California that had enough Agriculture production for me to know I wanted to be involved in the industry in some way. My grandparents had horses that I grew up riding, just putting around in the back pasture. And my parents did what they could to put me in lessons and horse camps, but it wasn't until my late twenties that I owned a horse of my own.

In college I spent a summer on a working cattle ranch in Northwestern Montana with my best friend's family. And in my mid twenties that same best friend gave me the first horse of my very own, and I started barrel racing.

I love horses, horsemanship, and barrel racing, coffee with my creamer, sunsets with a glass of wine or whiskey, and all things Western Fashion and Lifestyle. 

When I was 29 I became a mom for the first time, and my life was forever changed. I am still riding horses and chasing cans, it just looks a little different now with two kids.

I believe that it's never too late to become the person you really want to be, and live the life you truly want. That you don't have to be born into ranching, farming, and rodeo to find your place in it. That failure is always a step in the right direction. And there's room for everyone, no matter their background, in the western industries.
