Changing Seasons and Shifting Mindsets
Share
Fall has always been my favorite season. There's an almost tangible shift in the atmosphere that feels like it holds so much possibility. The combines, balers, grain trucks, and cattle pods take over the fields and highways. Horses gleaming summer coats begin to fuzz, and rides on fresh colts are more interesting than ever. It's the season of comfort food, cozying up with your loved ones, and slowing down to reflect on summer's success and prepare for winter. Here are 5 easy ways to transition into the Fall season.
- Break out the crock pot. With kids back in school, the busy harvest season, and shorter days there's nothing better than walking in the door to a hot meal ready to eat. Here is a simple recipe for a hearty potato soup that's sure to hit the spot.
- Swap your straw hat for felt. Labor Day is considered the official cutoff for straw season (of course this is going to depend on where you live). Here is a great guide to understanding how to choose the perfect felt hat.
- Wild rags are the perfect cooler weather accessory to dress up your favorite Roughout West Tee. They come in different lengths and dimensions and are so versatile. Wear them around your neck, as a headband, in your hair, or as a belt. This one is gorgeous and the perfect colors for fall.
- Dive into a new podcast. My current favorite is the Cowgirls Over Coffee with Thea Larsen. Episode 43 is all about creating Fall routines for success.
- Refresh your home. We spent way more time outside than in this summer, but that's about to change. Nothing is more cozy than lighting the perfect fall candle after a deep clean. Dirty Hands Candle Company makes high quality hand poured soy candles in Texas. I love the Pearl Snaps scent with notes of citrus, bergamot, Amber Wood, and leather.
